My wife and I went to see the Original Drifters/Tams in Johnson City on Saturday, June 3, with friends from Pittsburgh. While we mostly went to see the Drifters and enjoyed their act, the four of us were blown away by the Tams. I've seen some wonderful performances in my forty-some years of concert-going ... but I don't think I've ever seen a performance by any group that was that energetic. If it's fair to say, my one disappointment with the performance relates to two numbers that the group teased at the hour's end, but didn't perform: "Love Train" and "Shout". If you're not already performing those numbers, you'd do a great kindness to your audiences to add them to your repertoire.
Just saw the show at the Colliseum in Knoxville,Tn. It was a tremendous show and an awesome show of energy! Lil Red has an almost inexaustable show of energy. That man can dance! All I can say is,Man, what a show! You are all awesome! Keep doing it as long as you can. God Bless you all!
I went to see the Tams last night June 3, 2017 in Johnson City, TN. it was a great show and rekindled memories from my youth. What great performers!
I took my wife to see the Tams last night in Johnson City, Tn. What an incredible experience. The show was AMAZING. My hat is off to those gentlemen. They can make an audience want to get up and dance. GREAT JOB.
Your an awesome performer and singer. You have always been an inspiration to me from First time I seen you. Your daddy would be proud. Thanks for keeping the traditions and music alive. There needs to be more of you around. Keep having fun and doing that which you love. I'll keep up with you next year 😉
My wife and I listened and shagged to the music of Joe Pope, Charlie, and the rest of the guys at our yacht club in Mt. Pleasant, SC back around 1989. It was a moment in time I will never forget. Joe's wonderful raspy soulful voice is imprinted on the soundtrack of my life. Indeed, The Tams are w/o question the greatest band the southeast has ever heard. Love to hear the songs done now by the latest edition of The Mighty Tams, never let the music die !
Best way to put off aging, see THE TAMS as much as possible. Sunday afternoon 01/19/2017, THE MIGHTY TAMS in the NEWBERRY OPERA HOUSE. PERFECT winter afternoon!!!!!
We once again had The Tans for our Christmas party in December, and as it always is, was an amazing party. 14K got everyone onto the dance floor, and The Tams played for 2+ hours nonstop. Little Red was in GREAT form and the place rocked until after 11, when we got chased out of our country club. We had many '"strays" who heard the terrific music and stopped by to join us. This was the third year we have had them play a party and they just get better every year. We look forward to seeing them at Pam's 65th in March, 2018, and are sorry that grandchildren obligations will prevent us from going in the cruise... All the best for 2017 and always "Be Young, Be Foolish, and Be Happy." We love you guys!!! NO BETTER BAND AROUND!!!
I love you guys and can't wait to hear you guys again!!!
Saw the TAMS at the Plaza jam. A great show, could not ask for anything more. I go war back with the TAMS playing at the Coachman & Four club back in 1969 and up. Great entertainers.
Just saw/heard y'all at Plaza Jam in Rockingham, N.C. Wonderful time. Still love the music. Good crowd and great reminiscing of their hits.
Saw The Tams first time ever, at Panama City Beach on Friday, September 23, 2016. Was totally caught by surprised! Lil Red has super energy and the Tams overall performance was nothing short of spectacular!! GREAT JOB FORKS! COME BACK TO PANAMA CITY. Yay!
I loved seeing the tams with the drifters little red jumped off the stage and sang walking through the audience. he stopped next to my friend patsy who had hurt herself falling recently. he sang I've been hurt to her and said he would not forget her. he picked a member of the audience to sing on stage. he couldn't sing but he danced with the tams. I enjoyed the show patsy and I want to see them again.

My older sisters introduced me to the Tams in the late 60's when i was around 12. I have seen them live too many times to count. I even got on stage a few times and sang with them!!! What a thrill to stand next to Joe Pope, Charles, Sonny Key and Horace Smith. From the Alamo Club in North, SC, Spanish Galleon, and too many to count, the Tams are one of the greatest groups around!!! I saw little Redd when he was knee high and I knew then he was going to be a big star! Keep it up Tams from a great fan!!!
